HIFU ( high intensity focused ultrasound) Has been used successfully on some cancers. My oncologist is making enquiries.

Has AMMF heard this being used in CC?

    Dear Jilly

HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound) is only used to treat a single tumour, or sometimes part of one large tumour, and is not suitable where a cancer has metastasised.

As far as we are currently aware, HIFU is used only in prostate cancers although trials for other cancers may be coming.

We would be very interested to know what your oncologist uncovers in respect to HIFU and cholangiocarcinoma, so I hope you will come back and update us.

    With kindest regards
