CC Day 2 – Guest Post by Rebecca West

My best friend Helen died in 2010 aged 35.

Since then, it has been a long six years for those who loved her, and the Helen shaped hole left behind can never be filled. Out of this incredible loss have come some rays of positivity.

After 16 years nursing in the NHS, I decided to leave and have become the liver nurse advisor for a national liver charity. Every time I help patients with liver or bile duct cancer I think of Hel and I know she would be so proud.

Each year Helen’s close friendship group still think up crazy ways to fundraise! From muddy cross country races, to sponsored walks and runs.

Currently the funds raised and donated to AMMF in Helen’s name now totals over £25,000!
People’s amazing generosity is testimony to how highly regarded Helen was, and still is.

Friendship and love is eternal- and so is hope and positivity. Helen continues to shine on…..⭐
