    Hi everyone,
My mum has just been diagnosed with CC. They said it hasn’t spread to other organs but too widespread in the bile ducts to operate. She has been offered chemo but has said no as the oncologist has said it will not cure it & they may not even know if it is slowing it down.
She has been pretty much symptom free up until the last few weeks when she has started to get lots of pain but she doesn’t know if this is the cancer or arthritis/old age etc. After she had her stent put in she got sepsis & was obviously very poorly so perhaps her body is struggling to cope with the after affects of the sepsis (she is 72) she has never been ill in her life so this is all a very big shock.
Can anyone tell me if back & abdo pain & severe leg pain is a sign this is progressing? She is not due back to the oncologist till January (every 3 months) Any advice on symptoms would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Nikki

Welcome to AMMF’s Forum Nikki. Firstly, may I say how sorry we are to hear that your mum has had a recent diagnosis of cholangiocarcinoma.

We would suggest that your mum sees her GP or consultant as soon as possible to ascertain the causes of her pain and for suitable pain relief.

If we can be of any further help please do not hesitate to get in touch.

    Kind regards
    Julie

Please note it is not appropriate for AMMF to give specific medical advice or recommendations, but we do have a wealth of experience and information which we are always willing to share, whenever possible.
