Cholangiocarcinoma Awareness Month
February 2016 was an astounding month! AMMF’s daily Guest Post feature on Facebook touched people’s hearts like never before and reached over 200,000 newsfeeds worldwide; Twitter was buzzing; the ‘Say it, Share it, Send it’ awareness campaign was launched and used to great effect across the UK; hundreds upon hundreds of AMMF twibbons and Awareness Month banners popped up on social media profile pages and, for the first time ever, there was a World Cholangiocarcinoma Day.
AMMF sends sincere thanks to everyone who joined in during the month – you have raised a phenomenal amount of awareness!
See below for more details on the month’s highlights:
Facebook’s Guest Posts …
AMMF is immensely grateful to each courageous person who contributed a Guest Post for the charity’s Facebook feature during the month. We know that each of these posts is a personal story with every word written from the heart, and that is exactly what makes them so very special.
This year, the number of likes, shares and supportive comments each Guest Post received was beyond anything we have seen before – and the number of newsfeeds around the world that they reached was amazing. This has to be a true testament to the power of the written word and of the personal story when it comes to raising awareness.
The 2016 Guest Posts now appear here, collated into one special downloadable brochure. The photographs (some blurry, but all very precious) and live external links have been included. Unfortunately, we cannot include the incredibly kind, generous and supportive comments that appeared on each post but they do, of course, remain on Facebook. The “Say it, Share it, Send it!” Awareness Campaign
The “Say it …” awareness raising campaign was launched in February 2016 to coincide with Awareness Month.
Many supporters took part enthusiastically, downloading the “Say it ..” sheet and involving friends, family and colleagues in asking them to pronounce the word ‘cholangiocarcinoma’, sharing the symptoms and facts, and then sending us photos of the willing participants holding their “Say it …” sheets to share on the social media sites – spreading awareness even further!
The “Say it …” campaigns continues – so if you would like to take part during February 2017’s Awareness Month, just click the Read More button for full instructions and a downloadable “Say it …” sheet. Read More
